Lynda Cooper

 Lynda has over 20 years experience in management consultancy and her roles have included:

  • Service 20000 Ltd - owner/director/consultant/trainer for 10 years
  • Fox IT - International director of consulting for the UK and USA
  • Xansa ( now Sopra Steria) Global Head of Service Management for UK, USA, Europe and India
  • OSI - Head of the Sourcing and Service Management consulting practice
  • FI Group as Head of Consulting , Programme Director, Account Director
  • Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) - as senior consultant

 Within these roles, Lynda has gained experience of building a new multi disciplinary consultancy practice and also held the role of global head of service management with 300+ staff spread over UK, Europe, India and the USA. She has considerable experience of working in India and also spent 6 months living and working in the USA.

 As an independent consultant she now offers strategic service management and information security consultancy and education based on her vast experience. Lynda draws on her experience in outsourcing and consultancy organisations where she has worked extensively on pre-sales and transition of large application management (AM) and business process (BPO) outsourcing deals involving offshore working.  Lynda has supported many organisations to improve their services and protect their information through gaining certification to ISO/IEC 20000-1 and/or ISO/IEC 27001.

Lynda has industry recognition as a thought leader in Service Management. Her work culminated in the publication of the International Standard, ISO/IEC 20000 (commonly referred to as ISO20000). A keen advocate of the pragmatic use of best practice, Lynda is active in industry forums and on conference platforms as well as in publications. She chairs the BSI committee and represents the UK on the ISO committee for service management as the editor for ISO/IEC 20000-1. She was one of the first in the world to become an ITIL Master and is now an assessor. Lynda is qualified as an ISO/IEC 27001 lead implementer and lead auditor. She is an accredited trainer for ISO/IEC 20000 and ISO/IEC 27000.
